Nowadays, there is an increasing number of parents who attach greater importance in
letting their kids get a better education, and whether people today are easier to be
educated becomes a controversial topic. Some people hold the opinion that people in the
past had more opportunities to be educated since they can just put lots of money into it.
As far as I'm concerned, however, people who live today are more likely to get a chance
to be educated, and the reasons are given below.
First of all, nowadays' people have less burden on financial when they are receiving
education. With the development of society, lots of people are richer than before.
They have enough money for their kids' tuition fees and after class education.
Besides, tuition nowadays is set to a proper height that allows all the people can afford it.
To be more, some public schools which are funded by the government only ask for money on
accommodation, and children are allowed to attend school without paying much. Some other
private schools also set a reasonable price for even richer people. What's more, in some
universities, there are also financial aids for students who are talented but poor.
All of these help people nowadays receive a better education with no concern.
In addition, people have more resources for helping them study. As far as I know,
several ways can help students learn. Some of them are auxiliary which can help teachers
in the class. For example, smart blackboard allows teachers to put pictures and slides
on the screen, that can help students understand better. Also, with the smart blackboard,
faculties can finally get rid of dust and ash when they wipe the board before.
Besides, some utilities allow students to learn by themselves, such as computers,
smartphones. By these, we can attach to a wider world and learn different knowledge.
Furthermore, the improvement of technology is non-stop, which means that in the future,
we will have more and more techniques that can help us in learning. Therefore,
I agree that people today are more easily to be educated.
Admittedly, the university in the past may have a lower standard than nowadays,
and people before were more easily to get to study at university. However, all the
standards we have set today benefit students who plan to receive a university education
. Since not all the students are at the same level. If all of them attend Harvard,
Standford or schools that are advanced, some of them will eventually fall apart and have bad
academic performance. Thus, we have different levels of the university for different levels
of students, so we can ensure that all the students are supposed to be educated well in
their school.
In conclusion, according to the money we pay, a variety of resources we can have,
and the different levels we set, I hold the opinion that nowadays' people are more
likely to be educated than before.
